★ you make me smile

a new layout using the brand new line from Carta Bella, what a fabulous line this is, i love the weight of the paper, makes it fabulous for paint and misting. The line is so versatile, that i can see many more layouts and workshops coming from this line.  I just wanted to share this one first before i head out for my day.

i misted the background with trunk bay and painted the edges with a gesso whitewash and blended it in.  I also misted some crushed shells mist around the edges too. love how it turned out.

.  There is some canvas corp corrugated in there that i painted and misted and tore the edges on.  Layered it in the base here. The title is taken apart from a Dusty Attic chipboard title

and the word smile is Maya Road Jonathon Alphabet painted white.

The poppy i dipped in gesso and let dry

i cut various pennants in widths from carta bella paper and natural canvas and layered them on the existing banner that was already on the paper. I used some twine from canvas corp to look like the banner was hanging from it. A few stickers from the 12x12 sticker sheet are layered on top.

I created a little nest in the torn parts of the paper,

where momma bird and baby bird are sitting.

i hand cut this bird from the carta bella paper, tore into the main background paper and curled the edges back, added some whitewash gesso to the base.  I wanted it to look like a bird was sitting in her nest and peeking out at the little fisherman.

have fun with this line, i will be posting more creations and a workshop with this line coming soon to
