★ Adjust the sails - Creative Embellishments

Its the first of the month and time to bring you another challenge from Creative Embellishments.  This months challenge was to use something nautical and we had an inspiration image.

I interpreted the inspiration image using the blue tones, the lighthouse and trees. and came up with this.

I created a 5x7 base card ( corrugated is actually a bit larger, more like 7.5 x 5.5). The paper is from Heartfelt Creations Balmy Breeze collection as is the stamped image. I stamped it on water colour paper and used the Ranger Distress Markers to colour it. The light house and anchor are from the Nautical 6 piece set.

Details: Both pieces were primed with gesso.  The lighthouse i used a brick template and added texture paste, heat set to dry. then played with one of the four step paint systems from Tattered Angels. i did the same to the anchor, just addbing some texture paste and i love how both of these chipboard pieces turned out.

the sentiment i loved so much from a previous project that i used it again here.  its is done on my computer. And tht gorgeous die is new and from Spellbinders : 5x7 Heirloom Legacy .

Happy Scrapping!

  1. She sighs with delight.......what a card! I love the way your banner sentiment resembles the sails in your stamped focal. They also add a great sense of motion to the piece. I can almost feel those ocean breezes ruffling my hair.
