★ Cherish Memories-Heartfelt Creations

Oct 7, 2014

Well, its Wednesday! It is also Brand New Release Wednesday from Heartfelt Creations and this new line - All Geared UP! IS AWESOME! I jumped right in, and exhausted this entire collection with 4 layouts, one 10x10 canvas and two cards. here is a write up of this incredible collection.
Shift your creativity into high gear with the All Geared Up collection from Heartfelt Creations! This imaginative mix of gears, cogs, and mechanical flowers uses deep shades of rust, brown, teal, red and cream to create a fabulous industrial vibe. Clever vanity license plates, chains, wire, rugged stripes and distressed graphics mesh perfectly with Steampunk or masculine projects, and will keep your wheels turning with ideas for "girly grunge" creations, too. The versatile All Geared Up dies feature fanciful sprockets, gears, cogs, chains and license plates that can be shaped into innovative 3-D embellishments or die cut from white cardstock to create beautiful doily accents. Six hand drawn stamp sets continue the mechanical theme with a large Cogs and Gears background stamp, themed accent stamps, mechanical bouquets and playful sentiments that are "geared" to carry your project across the finish line with a smile. The All Geared Up Collection has been designed to inspire the bold in you....so let's gear up!

SO just reading that i bet you are wondering what is in the line, well, ....here is my first project with this collection, Heartfelt Creations has had some pretty incredible releases this past year, and heading into my last month for this term, this one has got to be my utmost fav! The dies are a open leaf, along with a large and small open cog flower, and a round cog flower. here is what i came up with for my first project.  I really loved the coordinating die, so i wanted to show off the die work. I wanted to remain within the colour palette of the collection ( teals; rust, browns)

Linda, CEO of Heartfelt Creations, sent me some photos in case i wanted to scrap some of hers ( and i loved that she did that) so this photo is of her hubby Willis. beautiful photo isnt it?

The chipboard base underneath all that die work is Creative Embellishments.

Instructions: Begin with a 12x12 background from the Geared up Collection and cut two coordinating papers 11.5x11.5 and 10.75x10.75. Edge Distress all three and ink with walnut stain distress ink. Adhere to background as shown. Cut another paper to 9x9 distress edges and ink with walnut stain, and look for the large photo mat paper, cut around frame, ink with walnut stain. This will be the second photo mat. Mat a 5x7 photo with black cardstock and adhere to the larger mat. Attach all these mats together as shown. Look for the sentiment “cherish” and cut out, ink lightly with walnut stain. Prepare the creative embellishments corner frames and photo frame chipboard pieces by applying gesso to prime them, then ink with Tahiti chalk ink and baja blue chalk ink creating a aged patina look. Attach the memories chipboard photo frame to bottom of center photo mat so only word shows through. Lightly mist other pieces with verdigris glimmer mist. Add some speckles of gold lumiere paint by placing some on end of a paint brush and flicking the bristles towards the chipboard. Cut out several (9 – 10 sets) Geared up flowers from geared up papers, inking some with Tahiti, some with baja blue and some with walnut stain, mold using molding mat. Attach gold, copper and screw type looking brads to centers. Attach chipboard corner pieces to corners of 9x9 center mat as shown and layer the geared up flowers on top allowing chipboard to show through edges and sides as shown in layout. Add gold speckles to the flowers with the gold lumiere paint. Some of the flowers i hot glued down and i then took the glue gun and created glue strands going across the geared up flowers to give added detail and dimension.Feel free to add as many of the geared up die flowers to your project, this is such an incredible set.
