★ Family Brag Wallet-Heartfelt Creations

Nov 19, 2014

Its Wednesday and you know, Wednesdays have always been an awesome day for me as I have the chance to share another Heartfelt Creations Project with you. Today i have a project to share using my new 12x12 Scorpal.  This is a Brag Wallet, designed using the All Geared Up Collection and three sheets of black cardstock

I have seen these around online.  Some done up in a portfolio kind of way and thought what an awesome project.  So, while visiting a stamp show in Fort Wayne, Indiana last month while away with friends scrapbooking, i had picked up a Interactive Mini Scrapbooks magazine from the Card Creations Booth and a similiar project was inside.  So although, i took cutting and scoring instructions from the magazine, the cover design and inside elements on this project is all mine :D
Here is the wallet opened up.  Now i have 6 photos in this wallet, along with three tags to journal. You can add more.

 To get Started you will need 3 sheets of Cardstock - 8.5 x 11 inches and cut them in the following manner.  I am using Bazzill Black for my project.

1 piece measuring 11"x8.5" (A);
2 pieces measuring 4"x8.25"(B);
2 pieces-5"x3"(C)
1 piece-5"x3.25"(D)
1 piece 4"x6"(E);
1 piece 3x4 1/2" (F)

- Place long edge of (A) against top of scoring board, score at 1/2", 5.5" and 10.5" marks. Place short edge against top of scoring board-score at 1/2" and 8" marks.
- Place long edge of (B) against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" and 8" marks-repeat for second piece.
- Place long edge of (C) against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" and 4.5" marks, repeat for second piece.
- Place long edge of (D) against top of scoring board score at 1/2" and 4 1/2". Place short edge against top of scoring board score at 1/2" mark.
- Place long edge of (E) against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" mark. Place short edge against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" mark.
- Place long edge of (F) against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" mark. Place short edge against top of scoring board, score at 1/2" mark.

Pattern Paper Measurements: for above scored cardstock:
- 2 pieces measuring 4 3/4"x7 1/4" four outside of album.
- 2 pieces 3 3/4"x7" for inside of album.
- 3 pieces-3 3/4 x 2 3/4" to cover pockets -
- 1 piece-3 1/4" x 5 1/4"; one 2 1/4"x 3 3/4".
Fold all scored papers on score line. Attach pattern paper to front of piece after inking edges with vintage photo distress ink. Before you adhere all of these together, i added ribbon, which i stapled to the front and back of the album PRIOR to adhering the pattern paper.  Purpose being i didnt want the staples to show. this allows me to tie the wallet close. When you have it all together it should look like this.

Here is where your Creativity and Imagination come in.  Decorate the wallet any way you wish.  If this is something you want to carry with you in your purse as it is the perfect size to do that, i would not decorate the cover so elaborately as chances are the flowers will get squished.  Or, this could be a coffee table, side table project that you can leave for visitors to browse through, give as a Christmas Gift, Birthday Gift or even a Grandparents Brag Album would be perfect too.

Using luggage and tag die, cut out four tags; cut out smaller ATC cards from tag sheet to use for photo mats. Use as many of the ATC tags and smaller tags as desired. Mat photo cards for pockets using the 4x6 mats from one of the papers in the collection.

Here are the tags and photos i used in the album, two tags cut using the Luggage and Tag Die, then one tag i made larger to suit the photo ( all photos sent to me from Linda Bontrager from Heartfelt Creations

Second Set of tags, one photo tag and the others for Journaling.

and I have two 3x5 photos using the photo mats from the paper collection, fits beautifully in the side pockets as a pull out.  You can add photos to the back of each tag, and on back of each photo below, or save it for Journaling too.

HCD 745 Luggage and Tag Die
368770 Scor Pal Measuring and Scoring Board
1259723 Art Institute (Dries Clear)
159223 Paper Blossom Molding Mat

Other materials Needed: 3 sheets of cardstock; 4x8 manilla tag; ribbon; family wood word from little yellow bicycle; chipboard hearts from heidi swapp; burlap or canvas ( 4x6 piece) tahiti chalk ink; baja blue chalk ink; vintage photo distress ink; 4-5 small photos and two 4x6 photos.

Reminder:  be sure to attach ribbon, (as previously mentioned) or twine so you have a tie to close the wallet. and staple this to the base before adding the paper to outside and pockets to the inside. Add a 4x6 piece of burlap or canvas to front of album as shown using art institute dries clear. Take a 4x8 manilla tag and ink with vintage photo, dab a bit with tahiti chalk ink. cover with a 4x6.5 piece of pattern paper and layer horizontally across front of wallet. so half is on the front of the wallet, and half is on back of wallet, i did this to add more stability. cut out 6 sets of the geared up die flower, ink with tahiti and vintage photo, add brads to center or chipboard gears, cut out one of the ATC panels from the tag sheet; ink edges and create a tag 3x5 from pattern paper, ink edges , add ribbon with stapler. Ink chipboard hearts with vintage photo, ink wood word with tahiti and vintage photo and layer all this on top of front of tag. You can cut and ink as many tags as you wish, i left some blank so journaling can be added.

I hope I have inspired you with this Family Brag Wallet enough to make one of your own, it truly is a great gift idea.

Until next time, HAPPY SCRAPPING!!
