Merry and Bright - Heartfelt Creations

Hi Friends, I hope where you are that you are not suffering an arctic blast that has most of Ontario in a deep freeze.  We have been experiencing minus temperatures with wind chills that are keeping me at least, in doors.

I created a Christmas layout and wasn't sure if i should share this before or after the holidays.  But i had hoped that there would have been many moments captured and you might be looking for a way to create some layouts, so here is one i created using a photo of a friends grand son, his name is Boston.

So here is my first project for 2018!

I used papers from the Festive Holly collection and also used stamps and dies from the new Poinsettia Cluster set. I wanted to keep the background uncluttered so your eye goes to the photo.

center of the layout, love that photo of Boston, he us such a cutie.

here is the layout uncropped

Happy Scrapping:

Instructions: Start with a sheet of red cardstock measuring 12x12", this will be your base, Cut a white piece of cardstock. I used Creative Scrapbooker cardstock, down to 11.5 x 11.5"; ink edges with aged mahogany distress ink. Using the art anthology stencil and the aged mahogany ink, add some color to center of layout. I did go over with some glue gloss and crystal clear.
Photo is 3.75 x 4" mat with white card 4 x 4.5". Cut 5 papers from collection measuring the following: 6 x 7.25" - largest mat; red 6x6"; green 4 x 6" with edge cut for regal borders; 4.5 x.6"; 4x5.75"; 4.25 x5.25".
Distress the edges of all the papers. Cut out a white overlay in regal borders as shown in photo. This will go on top the green paper. Attach all these layers together, wrap ribbon around the red 6x6 layer and cut and tuck in two tags with brads under the first pattern paper layer. Attach photo on top and search for sentiment merry and bright from paper collection, mat in coordinating paper and attach to photo as shown.
Cut and stamp one of the cardinals and color with red distress ink; go over with wink of stella . Cut out 12 poinsettias using the clusters stamp and die set. Cut and stamp out three holly vines from the festive holly stamp set using coffee ink on creative scrapbooker cardstock for all the stamped images. Color flowers and leaves using distress inks. Pierce flowers to make room for stamens, then use the 3D mold to shape the leaves and mini poinsettias. Add stamens and attach to leaves. Finish and detail layout.
Lay out your colored leaves and flowers on the layout as shown, until you are happy with the look. I placed mine on the right side of the photo, but you are welcome to place your images where will suit you. Detail with crystal clear
