P E A C E - Advent Canvas

Hello Friends and welcome to my blog today.  I am sharing a project with you that i created for  our Advent series at our Church.  I was approached by  Laura who wanted to know if i would be interested in creating something, i could do anything i wanted, card, tag, layout, but with the mixed media bug in me lately, i decided on a 10x10 deep edge canvas.

It had to be based on the word: P E A C E

I have to say, i have been sitting on this for weeks, i didn't know what i was going to do; or how i was going to approach it; but last night i pulled out this canvas and  got started; well, I worked until 2:45 this morning to get it completed, and I am in love with it.

 During my research, logically i wanted to know what the definition of  PEACE was, websters defines it as:

 a state of tranquility or quiet: such asa freedom from civil disturbance
  • Peace and order were finally restored in the town.
b a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom
  • a breach of the peace;
cfreedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions

For the Second Sunday of Advent:  Looking at Luke 2:8 -14

 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.  Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!
