Memory Captured - Creative Scrapbooker

Jun 10, 2019

Hi Friends and welcome to my Blog today, I am hosting the Blog over at Creative Scrapbooker and i have a layout to share with you today.

When i was thinking about what i wanted to create for you, i thought of the days when my boys went to school. It seems like so long ago.  We are in the month of June and im sure many of you will be looking for ideas for your school photos. so i have created a masculine school layout using the Mini Old School Collection from 49 and Market  ( link here:

To begin with, i am using a photo of my oldest son from 2013, this is his Grade 12 photo which measures 3.5 x 5, i cut a 4 photo mats from other papers in this collection beginning with a 3.75 x 5.75 and each photo mat was 1/4 inch larger than the last, I used Off the Grid as my main background paper, using the  reverse side

I wanted to add some texture using a couple stencils, The first one i used was Woven stencil from Prima Marketing, and i used Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Ranger to do that, i also used Tim Holtz Speckles and I used Weathered Wood Distress Ink on that. I also decided i wanted to stamp some of 49 and Markets Pascales Equation ( image randomly using Black Archival Ink, here is what it looks like

I then used the laser cut sheet from the Old School Collection and inked the edges of some of the elements i wanted to use tucking them in behind the layers from my photo mats; i used the photo frames on the photo and cut the smaller one in half inking it and using it as a tucked layer on either side of my photo.

I thought it might be a good idea to detail this project with some chipboard and felt maybe the Memory Chipboard ( with the cogs and clock would be a nice addition,

I cut the clock in half using it on either side of my photo, colored the cog border with a blend of vintage photo and weathered wood distress ink to blend in with my colors, i topped this off with some Tim Holtz Metal Gears ( for added dimension and detail.

I colored the Memory title with vintage photo distress ink and popped this on one of the book layers at the top of the photo mats. I used the laser clock image here too, perfect detail for this masculine page. I think i might actually add some gold wax to this later on.

Here are some added photos for you to check out the layers in this project:

Its not shown in this photo but in the final image, you can see in the first image, that i wrapped some Jute Cording ( : around my photo layers and just tied in a knot.

I wanted those layers to look like years of report cards behind Elijahs photo; I used one of hte manufacture strips from one of the papers and cut it down to fit the photo mats, it adds a nice detail.

I added in some bubbles for extra dimension

I hope i have inspired you to think about scrapping those school photos of your little ones ( or even bigger ones) I still have school photos to scrapbook so i really enjoyed putting this together for you !

Until next time,

Happy Scrapping!!
