Ordinary Moments - Dusty Attic

Hello Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog as i share a quick and easy layout using gears and the skeleton clock from Dusty Attic.

The photo is of my hubby taken at our beach last fall. I love this photo of him looking out into Lake Huron, but this is something we do almost everyday here in Northern Ontario.

I wanted to keep the layout simple, and masculine, so i used some gears and the skeleton clock. Adding some black gesso as my base then dabbing on some rust paste.

The Skelton Clock was altered the same way and i love how this simple, yet great masculine page turned out

The title, i just added some Buff acrylic paint to have it stand out a bit.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my project share today.

Captured Photographs - 49 and Market

Hello friends and welcome back.

Today I am sharing a layout designed using the Curators Botanical Collection.

I began with a 12 x 12 for the background and wanted to keep this layout simple. I cut two of the graph looking pieces from other papers in the collection

I tucked in some of the laser cut wild flowers among the Ocean Jade Flowers. The laser cuts are so perfect to use for any project to add a detail or layer.

i cut the ruler strips and used the lace border edge on the photos from the laser cut pack, and the tags, i separated and inked the edges.

I used a black and white photo for this project, and added in the laser cut frame tucking it in on the right corner. I love the stamped laser cuts and used those as a layer to the right of the frame.

I hope you like my layout share today, and give the curators botanical collection a try for your next black and white layout.

Hello Sunshine - Elizabeth Crafts

Hello Friends and thank you for dropping by my blog. Today I am sharing a card with you. This is designed using Florals 6, along with the Stitched Indented Rectangles and a couple new stencils on the background.

I started by cutting out three of each of the floral sizes from florals 6 onto the soft finish cardstock. I also cut out five of the leaves.

The Florals

I also cut out 3 of small florals from Florals 16. I colored the Florals 6 using Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink, and the Florals 16 using scattered straw. I then shaped the Florals 6 forming three peonies. The small florals 16 i just inserted a wired stamen.

The Background

I wanted to use the new stencils and started  by stamping CS146 Background Stamp with Black Archival Ink, I also used CS253 Note Pieces ( the smaller graph stamp) Once i stamped the images, i used the S044 Planner Stencils 1 and i used Light Texture Paste. I then used the Number Stencil and used a blending tool using Saltwater Taffy on the background creating a tone on tone color.  I then splatter some white acrylic ink and gold paint

I cut some stitched indented rectangles and only used strips of them to add some layers, what a great way to add layers, without all the bulk of a full layer.

I used peach threaded pollens  in the center of the peonies and thought they blend so beautifully with the colors in the pattern paper.

a couple detail images.  I then stamped the sentiment Hello Sunshine and die cut it out on the banner die, folding it back

I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Until Next Time, Happy Scrapping

Celebrate You - Elizabeth Crafts

 Hi Friends

I am back to share a "Friday Florals" with you today. Friday Florals started as something i wanted to do, apart from my Design Work for Elizabeth Crafts.

I have to say, the floral dies from Elizabeth Crafts are "Simply" amazing.  I am working with Florals 14 and I will link the dies and some of the products i used below.

I started with using papers from Mintay - Apple Season, the colors in this collection remind me of summer, and  I wanted to bring that into my card today.  I used three of the patterns in this collection, one pink gingham, a sage green gingham and a floral pattern.

Of course you know i only use Soft Finish Cardstock from Elizabeth Crafts for my florals, i have tried so many papers over the years  and the Soft Finish is by far the best on the market.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Label Stickers

For Die Cutting

I cut 6 large florals, two medium and two small for this card, colored the leaves using bundled sage distress ink and the flowers are colored with aged mahogany, i tried a couple other colors, but the red seemed to just set this card off . I did tone it down a bit with snow paste and some glitter.

I used the leaf dies from Florals 15 and layered those on top of one another

I used stamens from Dress My Craft

The card base is also from Mintay, i just traced out the bottom white edge onto two coordinating papers and used my foam tape to set some dimension between the layers.  I colored some seam binding and added that to the left side of my card

Thank you for dropping by today,

Products Used:

Mintay Papers - Apple Season, and Fancy Cards (white)

Distress Inks: Bundled Sage and Aged Mahogany

Stamens - Dress My Craft

Snow Paste - Deco Art

Sentiment - Tim Holtz Label Stickers

A Captured Moment - Dusty Attic

Hello Friends and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing a layout designed for Dusty Attic, using papers from 3 Quarter Designs.

To begin, i started with a photo of hubby and my two guys from a family trip in 2015. This was taken on a hike while in Panama City, Florida. The colors in the mood board are perfect for sepia and black and white photos so i edited my photo a bit to reflect that.

Using vintage photo distress ink, ground espresso distress ink and Black Archival ink, as well as vanilla acrylic i colored all my chipboard pieces . Adding some gold wax after they were dry.

I added some Graphic 45 Pearl Gems to detail the Antique Frame and the 6 inch border. And then splattered some vanilla and gold paint.

Adding in layers of paper and distressing the edges, i decided the fancy trim would look great at the bottom of all my paper layers. I originally was not going to add any flowers but the layout, in the end, was missing them, so i added those at the end paint the center stamens gold to coordinate with my colors.

Here is the mood board for June, i hope you join in and give this months color challenge a try.

Products I used:

3 Quarter Design Papers - Grundge Reinvented

Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Ground Espresso Distress Ink

Black Archival Ink, Graphic 45 Gems. 49 and Market Flowers.

Beautiful Moments - 49 and Market

Good Morning Friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a project for 49 and Market. For todays project i put together a layout using a blend of florals, acetate and rubons.

To begin with my layout, i created a resin frame to add detail to this layout. I took the sage paper form the Avesta Collection, tearing it in half and distressed the edges. Adhering this to the main Curators  Botanical paper.

I added snow paste to my florals prior to placing them on the layout. I selected ap photo of my hubby and boys from a family trip years ago. The florals coordinate perfectly to the colors in my photo.

I used rub ons to add a subtitle and for my main title.  I added rub ons to he right of the resin frame and to the left side of the upper paper. . I love the acetate leaves, they add the perfect layer detail and if you use foam adhesive to pop them up, they add a gorgeous layer to any project.

I used the stamp looking ephemera from the Essential Curators laser cut elements and used them as a layer to the right of my photo and i place rub ons on others for my sub title.

Here is my the layout. The final detail i added some micro beads with dries clear adhesive. I hope you enjoyed my project today and see you soon.
