Follow Your Heart - Dusty Attic:

Hello Creative Friends, welcome back to my blog today sharing a project created for Dusty Attic. This is designed on a 8x10 flat board canvas using the Mood Board color challenge for the month of September.

Dusty Attic has released some awesome industrial/mechanical pieces, some of which I put together to create this project.

Using various pieces, i colored using some acrylic paint, and some

Distress Ink Reinkers to achieve the look i wanted

Below are some close up images of my project.

I used the colors in the mood board to blend them into the pieces. Purples and Blues blended easily once i determined which ones i wanted to use.

When it was completed i went over each piece using gold wax, added in some metal screws in the middle of some chipboard pieces.

I hope you give the Mood Board Challenge a try for the month of September, you still have time to submit your project

Create your Life - 49 and Market

HI Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog today sharing a project designed for 49 and Market.

This is designed on the new Serenity Collection

I started with an oversized photo i felt the colors really suited this collection so I added in lots of laser cuts and florals.

I used a chipboard title and layered it on to a laser cut and added in the border for added detail.

I tucked in chipboard tags and leaves in this corner using some ephemera laser cuts as well too. The florals are easy to manipulate and scrunch so you can get the shape you need.

I cut apart the leaves in the laser cuts and tucked them in where i felt i needed some layers.

I added in some white splatters and snow paste to the florals just to add a bit of texture.  I hope you dig into the Serenity Collection it is absolutely gorgeous to create with.

Most Wonderful Time - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog today as I share a card with you Designed for Elizabeth Crafts.

With so many Holiday projects on my desk, i felt perhaps, although a bit early, I would share a Christmas Card with you,

Using Planner Essentials 47 to cut out the tree, i cut it out 6 times, just trimming off the tree and i layered them all in the circles. I then cut the deer on a coordinating paper from the collection i was using.

I used the stitched circles to create a winter scene, starting with the smaller circle on the inside layer, then the larger circle on the outside layer. Using foam adhesive  to pop the layers to allow me to create this lovely winter scene

The florals 12, i used and cut out on Foamiran which is a light felt paper, i shaped and added stamens, paint and glitter to the centers.

I love how this winter scene turned out, and what a great way to get a jumpstart on my Holiday Cards. I hope you dig into your planner essentials and see which ones will work for your holiday cards too.

Under the Sea - Dusty Attic

Hello creative friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a steampunk vibe project for Dusty Attic.

They have released anew range of Steampunk and Industrial chipboard pieces i so wanted to play with. So i designed this 8x8 on a flat board Canvas.

Now i have to explain, i do not consider myself a mixed media artist, i like to dabble in it. Sometimes, i surprise myself and come up with a great project.

This for me, was one of those projects. I used papers from Sea World from Stamperia for my background.

I also used a few of their acrylics to come up with the colors i have. This came about rather quickly as the paints just happen to be perfect. I added in some Turquoise fluid acrylic and burnt sienna.

The burnt sienna allowed me to create the darker shadows you see under some of the pieces. I also added in some brads from my stash where i felt they needed to be to add that special detail

i love how it turned out, even the title, which i cut out from one of the papers looks metal  but its paper. I sanded the edges, then added some mediums and finally gold wax.

Here is the finished flat board canvas, I love how it turned out!!

why not give these new steam punk pieces a try, they are fabulous to play with.

Materials Used:

Broken Bits; Machine Mechanicals; Gears by Nuneka; Cogs & Gears

Celebrate the Moments - 49 and Market

Hello Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog, today I am sharing a project designed for 49 and Market using some of my left over bits and pieces from previous projects.

Maybe when you  create projects you keep some of your larger left over pieces for future projects. I do not keep all of them, just the larger bits. And,  that is exactly what i did. This layout is designed with a bunch of left over pieces.

Using a black and white photo i decided to layer my pieces and lightly inking the edges, using foam tape in between each layer to add more dimension.

Most of these pieces are from the Curators Botanical Collection, some laser cuts from the Meadow Collection and that green piece which i used a large die on to get that stitching, is from the Naturalist Collection. And this is a great way to use of those left over pieces you have been hanging onto for "something" because I know, I do the same, I think a lot of crafters do.

Below, is my finished layout, i decided to add some softer tone florals

So don't be afraid to use up those pieces of paper you have been hanging onto, they might just boost you to add then to your next layout

Thank you for dropping by today!
