Good Morning Creative Friends and Happy Friday!
Today I am here to share something different than my usual style. If you have have followed me for a while, you may have come to know, that I am a card maker, a mini album maker and maybe even scrapbook pages. But have you ever seen any Art Journaling from me? I would say NO!
This is my first ever Art Journaling Page, i have always wanted to just dabble into this form but thought it to be be messy ( i am not a fan of dirty hands in my projects)
When Alexis, from Sizzix reached out to me to see if i was interested in working with Cat Kerrs latest release, i said I would try it. And this box arrived last week and i was a bit nervous to dig in.
My base is a Canson Mixed Media book with 60 pages. I had no idea where to start, what journals to work with, i had this in my stash and thought it would work. I began by applying a thin coat of white acrylic paint, and let dry.
I blended in acrylics from Amsterdam and as nervous as i was with each layer of color i put on, ( i did heat set in between layers as well) i was amazed at how this turned out. I have a Native heritage and feathers are sacred to us.
So i started my first page using The R's have it Set!
I had no plan in mind, just grabbed colors i liked, and used my brayer and brushes;
I hope i have inspired you to give this art form a try, i did!
