Art Therapy in Progress - Sizzix

Good morning Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog.

Today I am sharing with you a totally unique project designed using the new release from Eileen Hull for Sizzix.

I have to admit, i often look at a color wheel and see Windmills. So i though why not do that. My background was inspired by Team Member Chris Collins, who shared a tag where the background was embossed on Mat board.

What an awesome technique  ( Thank you for the inspiration Chris)  and she mentioned it was Eileen who inspired her, so Eileen back at you for this awesome technique.

I cut a tag using the Mat board, then embossed a couple areas using the die from 666880 Rainbow Wheels

I used the Stamp Set 666881 - Swatch Cards and heat embossed and stamped the large color wheel and the smaller wheel stamp.

I layered 6 die cuts to create the windmill, and set this on vellum. The Windmill stand was cut from cardstock and i used rust paste to age it and resemble metal.

thank you for dropping by today.

Thinking of You - Sizzix

Hello Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog. I am sharing another card created with the new release from Catherine Pooler for Sizzix.

What a sweet card to let someone know you are thinking of them.

I began by using the #666835 In The Clouds Layering Stencil and just one ink color. I just applied a lighter or heavier pressure for each layer using Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I really love how that turned out.

I then die cut the sweet air balloons using #666830 Up and Away#2

The small flowers are part of the Stamp Set #666829 Up and Away as is the sentiment. The pattern paper is from my scraps, and I believe it is 49 and Market -

Thank you for dropping by today, I hope i have inspired you with this card from the new Catherine Pooler Release.

Sending Hugs - Handmade Florals

Good afternoon creative friends, welcome back to my blog.

We had a two day ice storm here in northern Ontario this past weekend which allowed me to hibernate to my craft room.

I have been wanting to dig into my floral dies and designed this card. The background is a 3D embossing folder from Spellbinders. I inked the paper with Black ink then ran it through with the Embossing folder. I splattered it with gold metallic ink.

The florals are from Elizabeth Craft Designs by Angelica Turner. Florals 26 and I created a Gerbera Daisy . Inks are from Catherine Pooler.

My pulled out my Glimmer machine and used a Pinkfresh Sentiment set. It has been a  while since i have used that too :)

I hope you like my card and thank you for dropping by today.

Materials Used:

Pinkfresh: Blanket Stitched Octagon along with

Feed Your Soul - Sizzix

Good Morning Creative Friends:
Sharing with you an Art Journaling Page
"Feed your Soul: Do What you Love"
This is designed using the Feed Your Soul by Cat Kerr Mixed Media for Sizzix.

This is my second page I have created in my Art Journal and its a very different process than my card making or mini albums.

I used the larger stamp set and only inked the floral part of the stamp to create a border and i love how this turned out.

thank you for dropping by today. I hope i have inspired you to create using this awesome release.

Breathe: Do what you Love - Sizzix

Good Morning Creative Friends and Happy Friday!

Today I am here to share something different than my usual style. If you have have followed me for a while, you may have come to know, that I am a card maker, a mini album maker and maybe even scrapbook pages. But have you ever seen any Art Journaling from me? I would say NO!

This is my first ever Art Journaling Page, i have always wanted to just dabble into this form but thought it to be be messy ( i am not a fan of dirty hands in my projects)

When Alexis, from Sizzix reached out to me to see if i was interested in working with Cat Kerrs latest release, i said I would try it. And this box arrived last week and i was a bit nervous to dig in.

My base is a Canson Mixed Media book with 60 pages. I had no idea where to start, what journals to work with, i had this in my stash and thought it would work. I began by applying a thin coat of white acrylic paint, and let dry.

I blended in acrylics from Amsterdam and as nervous as i was with each layer of color i put on, ( i did heat set in between layers as well) i was amazed at how this turned out.  I have a Native heritage and feathers are sacred to us.

So i started my first page using The R's have it Set!

I had no plan in mind, just grabbed colors i liked, and used my brayer and brushes;

I hope i have inspired you to give this art form a try, i did!

Materials Used:

white and gold embossing powder
