Welcome to my last post for 2017. It is Karan Gerber here to host the blog for one last time for 2017. It just so happens that my last post for the year ends up on New Year’s Eve and today I am sharing with you a card using some fabulous stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.
I incorporated paper from the Blazing Poppy paper collection to create this card and used inks from Ranger and Clearsnap ColorBox. Here is a peek at my card I put together for you today: I wanted my sunflowers to look festive so I colored my flowers using Rose coral chalk ink from ColorBox and used Aged Mahogany on the tips
The card base size is a 8.5 x 11 piece of card folded in half I cut two papers from the collection for the base and I distress them, I searched for a A2 panel that I felt would coordinate and i matted that with white Super Stock from Creative Scrapbooker
Here I used the Botanic Window die in a coordinating paper, and used Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear on the edges to add some extra glitter. I used Glue Gloss to apply my glitter. It is pretty portable and a quick drying.
Now lets get started on the flowers and leaves, stamp the classic sunflower out on the Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock using coffee archival ink; color centers with Ranger Ink Expresso; and then use Rose Coral chalk ink on petals and final step is to highlight them with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink
In total I used 13 flowers for this best wishes card, but did not use any of the smaller ones that the die cuts out. Once i was done coloring them, I pierced the center to make room for the stamens, then I used the 3D Flower Basics Mold; the sizes in the mold are not perfect for this flower, but it still lends to some fabulous texture, i had to run this through a few times to get all my flowers completed.
color your leaves
I think these are some of my favorite flowers this year and they work perfect on the Best Wishes card. I love how the crystal clear looks like the stamens have a snowy look to them.
