Essential Planner Cover Page

Hi Friends, i know its been a while since i have posted on my blog, the building of our retirement home up north has kept me away from my scrapbook room.

Well, i have never attempted an idea like this before, but i have to say i am so happy with my results. My first ever #planneressentials page using dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have also completed page 2 and three of my #traveljournal and will upload those later, but i wanted to share this with you first.

Some of the tags and paper elements are from a paper collection from 49 and Market as i do not have any of the planner stamps.

Always find the Time - Dusty Attic

Good Morning Friends and welcome to inspiration today for Dusty Attic.

Its Karan Gerber here to host a project share for you today and i have a layout designed to share with you based on Junes Mood Board Challenge.

I am sad to say that i will be stepping down as a Design Team Member for Dusty Attic at the end of the month. I am doing this so that i can assist my family in building our forever  home, 9 hrs north of where we currently are.
Our forever home will be built on beautiful Lake Huron, here in Ontario, Canada.

It has been such a pleasure being here for the past six months inspiring you and sharing my projects, i hope to be back once all the dust settles.

My Inspiration for today:

Here is my take on the Mood board Challenge

I love the color Orange and pulled the orange and blues out of this challenge and designed this layout

this photo was taken in the south rim of the Grand Canyon of hubby and I in 2018!

I decided to make it black and white. I made the title and foliage branches white by embossing them with white embossing powder

the fancy border i set at the top and bottom of the corrugated cardboard and used red rust paste on them dabbing a bit of white snow paste on top

the second Fancy Border #13 i used on the side of the photo and again dabbed rust paste on.

The title here, is perfect for what we are all going through right now; to find time for the things that make us happy.

Hubby and I love to travel, and although our travel plans were cut short, our cruise cancelled; we still find time to do the things we love, like canoeing, and kayaking, we love being on the water.

I hope you are able to find time to do the things that make you happy too.

The foliage i cut apart all three branches and tucked them in and out of the 49 and Market flowers which i toned down with snow paste and gesso.

I hope you have enjoyed my project share with you today!

Memories Insta Album Class - Paper Lane Studio

Hi friends; i wanted to share with you a class that i designed for Paper Lane Studio. This class was originally scheduled for April, and with the lockdown and numbers for gatherings, we rescheduled until June 27th,

Well, the gathering numbers are still not where we wanted them to be for this class as this class is SOLD OUT, so we decided to host a VIRTUAL class. I am pleased to say that was a back up plan in case in person class was not able to be a go.

This is one of my favorite classes i have designed this year, and the only class, out of 9 classes from my Spring schedule that was a go. Here are some images from this class, the album is a 8x8 Insta Album from Heartfelt Creations and the paper is from the Flowers Story collection from ScrapBoys.

this album boosts lots of Rust Paste from Prima; Flowers from 49 and Market

it took 33 sheets of pattern paper for each album and 10 sheets of carsdtock, tis a gorgeous album

there are three accordion flips in this album allowing more photos

i just wanted to share it with you and am so honoured it SOLD out

Huge thank you to Lee Anne from Paper Lane Studio for all her efforts in booking this class, the added stress with all the changes currently going on.

Materials
Heartfelt 8x8 Insta Album; Dies on belly bands also from Heartfelt.
Flowers Story Paper collection from Scrapboys
49 and Market Flowers; Tim Holtz time keeper die; Prima rust pastes

Use Your Wings - Dusty Attic

Hello Friends and welcome back to a project share today with Dusty Attic.  You must know by now ho much i love the Prima Rust Pastes and i have incorporated the orange one along with some fussy cuts from Scrapboys and fabulous chipboard from Dusty Attic.

I created an altered project last month using this photo of my grandparents and wanted to do one more on this 7x 9 mini clipboard.

I began by adding black gesso to the chipboard pieces, the Skeleton clock face, the mini gears; the stars, numbers and border. I fussy cut the wings; gears and clocks from the element sheet in the Industrial Romance collection from Scrapboys. Here are a few more detail images

the photo box was discarded from a previous project and i thought i could use it here, painting it black and covering the outside with paper from the Scrapboys Industrial Romance collection.

I cut some 3 x 4 pieces of numbers from the large 12 x 12 sheet and used them as a layer in the background under the skeleton clock.

The Skeleton clock face served as one of the main layers under my photo box,

Hope i have inspired you to get crafty today, thank you for dropping by.

Materials used:

Skeleton Clock Face;
Mini Cogs ;
Number Panel;
Industrial Star #2;
 Lace Border

Love Always - Dusty Attic

Hello friends and welcome to my blog today as i share a project designed for Dusty Attic

I love the papers from 49 and Market and used the Sky Mini collection for the background of my project blending in some stitched frames and fabulous Dusty Attic Chipboard.

I had used this photo on a recent project and wanted to create with it again.

Using the Mystic frame as my focal starting piece, i used gesso and texture paste; along with mists and alcohol ink to achieve a coordinating color i liked.

I love how this one turned out using lots of flowers from 49 and Market and the Mini Sky Collection

i used texture paste and chalk paint on the title i wanted it to somewhat coordinate with the stitching in the frames. I also used watered down chalk paint on the background to match the colors in the flowers and art stones.

I did the same with the corner scroll but i didnt add as much chalk paint to it as i did the title. I wanted it to look like part of the cluster of flowers

the corner scroll is very detailed

I hope you have enjoyed my project share today and i look forward to inspiring you again soon.

Other Products:
49 and Market Flowers; Sky Collection; Sky stitched Frames; Gesso; snow paste; chalk paint; alcohol ink; Art Anthology Mist; Prima Mists and Art Stones.

Together Forever - Dusty Attic

HI Friends and welcome to the Mood board Challenge for May for Dusty Attic and my take on the Challenge.

Last month i did a project on a large record album and i really enjoyed creating on a circle layout instead of the normal square 12 x 12, so i thought i would try something similar for another project.

The mood board this month is filled with pinks and darker greens
and i have a layout to share with you.

I started by making the large skeleton clock frame the base for my layout, tracing it out on heavy chipboard and then cutting a circle out of chipboard and pattern paper

I cut out some pieces of numbers from the large number panel and gessoed them then used some paints from my water color palette to add a bit of color to work with the mood board colors

you can see one of the groups of numbers i have cut out of the large panel, i added one group at the 3 and another at the 7, no specific reason, just seemed to be the best fit to enhance all the paper layers i had and leave enough white space.

I have run out of leaves and had the large floral frame set, so i cut apart the leaves on the large panel and used them to go in as a layer around the flowers. I love dimension and thought the photo would look better on a reverse shadow frame so i created one and strengthened it with chipboard

the title, i started it out with being white, but it seemed to get lost on the photo so i gessoed it over with black gesso and love that it pops for me.

I hope i have inspired you to create something for this months challenge.

Beautiful Life - Dusty Attic

Hello Friends and welcome to my blog today. Today i have a project designed for Dusty Attic.

Like many of you, i have found it difficult to sit down and create during these strange times we find ourselves in.  Upon reflection, it is times like these, that i feel,  we need to cherish our memories even more and that we should preserve these for years  to come.

I was going through and decluttering my home as we prepare for the next journey in our lives and i came across some old LP ( record albums)

i had seen these use as altered projects so i though i would attempt one.

After finding a photo of hubby and I from florida in 2014, i realised i had never scrapbooked this one, so here is my project for you today based on the Moodboard for April.

I first had to prep the album (LP)  and i used black gesso and gave it a couple
coats and set it aside to dry.

I used the center of the Skeleton clock and heat embossed it with Seth Apters Baked Texture- Sand embossing powder. I did this for both skeleton clocks.
The mystic Flourish and title i embossed with white embossing powder. i had used this in another project so i had bits left over and tucked them throughout the flowers.

The corals and golds i took from the Moodboard for the month, and brought in that in the paper from 49 and Market -Ethereal.

The background is the black from the Moodboard and mauves and purples are in the paper,

I hope i have inspired you for the Moodboard this month !

Beautiful Life
Mystic Flourish
Skeleton Clock

Other Materials: 49 and Market Ethereal Paper collection; Little Birdie Crafts flowers; black gesso; Prima Stencil; snow paste; old LP record; Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polish

Explore Sea Glass - Altered Bottle -Dusty Attic

HI Friends,

Its Karan Gerber here today to share some Mood Board Inspiration with you.
i have an altered bottle to share with you for this months Mood Board Challenge!

I am calling it
 "Explore Sea Glass Bottle"

I pulled the blues and browns from the mood board and designed this as my inspiration.

I started out with a small wine bottle ( Mateus Rose) this measures about 10 inches high and around 5 inches wide in the center; its a bit smaller than most wine bottles, and i wasnt too disappointed that i had to empty the bottle first, haha

but i bought this bottle especially for the size for me to alter.
I started out by priming the bottle and all the chipboard pieces as when i started i wasn't sure what i was going to do with it, the Decorative Frame  was the perfect size and fit top to bottom on this little bottle.

I had colored the leaves and small glass bottle on the front using colors to coordinate with the Mood Board. Mainly Patina paint form Ranger; Art Anthology and Prima Mists.

I wanted the bottle to look like it has been sitting half in the sand, and half exposed to water

i added crackle and pastes to the chipboard to give added texture

we have alot of snow right now so i took this photo below with it sitting on the snow bank on my deck

below you can see the results of the crackle paste, i left this to dry overnight

so there is my take on this months challenge, i hope you have enjoyed dropping by today.

Until Next Time ~~ Happy Scrapping

Skeleton Clock Faces:
Blueprint Word Pack;
Decorative Frame #1
